Stanhope Railway Journey (almost)

Unfortunately we never experienced the train journey but we had a lovely day in Stanhope, County Durham

The plan was to take a trip on the Stanhope to Witton-le-Wear railway, however, a little lack of organisation and planning led us to having a lovely day in Stanhope instead. We visited the ford across the River Wear, then we had our picnic on the fells and then onto the Durham Dales Centre. We never got to do the train journey, but we visited the station at least, and it’s the thought that counts, or so I am told.
