Farmstead Milking Routine / Milking Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Join me as I show our morning milking routine. I will also show a couple small improvements to our milking machine and milk stand.
Parts List for Manifold:
1 - 1' section of 3/4" PVC cut in half
3 - 3/4" PVC tees
5 - 3/4" male glue to 1/2" threaded female adaptors
3 - 1/2" male threaded x 1/4" Female threaded reducers
1 - 1/4" x 3" brass nipple ( to thread in to reducer and slip in bottom of pulsator )
1 - 3" section of 1/2" tubing to slide over bottom of regulator and a barbed fitting
2 - 1/2" hose adaptors to connect to inlet and outlet of manifold ( this size may vary depending on the type of setup you use to vacuum pump and milking lines)
1 of each - pressure regulator, pressure gauge, and pulsator set for goats
Hope this helps. Any question please feel free to ask!
To make an udder wash/teat dip just mix:
1 oz (2 T) of bleach (Clorox only)
one quart of water.
a drop of blue Dawn dish detergent (DO NOT use any other formula!)
Cleaning the milking machine and lines:
A tree bucket system works best
1. Warm water to clean out milk in lines
2. Run warm "Dairy Utensil Soap" water thru milk lines
3, Run a chlorine based hot water thru milk lines and let dry
Recipes for each of these can be found on internet
