How to Set Up Design for Print, Print-Ready Artwork | instantprint

You’ve just created the perfect design for your business. Before you hit the upload button on the instantprint website, there are a few things you’ll need to check for to make sure your artwork prints perfectly every time.
Size
Is your artwork the right size? For A sizes (e.g. A3, A2, A1), we can resize this for you as long as your artwork is larger than the product you want to order e.g. your artwork is A2 but you’ve ordered an A3 product.
Bleed
For most of our products, you’ll need a 3mm bleed around the edge of your design. This allows our cutting machines some leeway as alignment is never 100% accurate. Make sure important information is kept away from this area or it will risk being cut off.
Safe Area
This is an additional 3mm border around the original border of your artwork (i.e. not the bleed border) that helps keep the important parts of your design safe from cutting.
File Type
We accept the following file types for upload:
- .psd
- .pdf
- .tiff
- .doc
- .jpg
- .ai
