Ghost Riders in the Sky
Echoing the old Celtic legend of the Wild Hunt, Ghost Riders In the Sky was written in 1948 by US songwriter and actor Stan Jones, and first recorded by him that year. But it was made famous by Burl Ives, who recorded it a year later, and since then has been covered by about 50 recording artists including Johnny Cash, and was featured in the otherwise-lamentably-bad movie, Blues Brothers 2000.
Sadly, none of those versions also included a guest appearance by a large dog, which the song clearly calls for and which we have tried to rectify here.
