Joanna Tuffy was a Labour Party TD in the Dáil Éireann from 2007 to 2016. Labour has been in many coalition governments, most recently from 2011 to 2016. Ireland uses PR-STV (Single Transferable Vote) one of the three systems recommended to the Electoral Reform Committee by Fair Vote Canada. BC-STV received 58% of the vote in the first BC referendum in 2005.
Steve Withers is a joint citizen of New Zealand and Canada. He moved from Canada to NZ in 1982. He was a leader in the NZ yes to MMP (Mixed Member Proportional) campaign in 1996 and campaigned for MMP in Ontario in 2007. MMP is one of the three systems recommended to the Electoral Reform Committee by Fair Vote Canada. MMP won a majority of the vote in the PEI referendum in 2016.
