Blue Angels 2016 Team Welcome - NAF El Centro, March 11, 2016

The commanding officer of Naval Air Facility El Centro, Captain William Doster, welcomes the 2016 members of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Team, the "Blue Angels," during the food and wine festival on March 11. The Blues later flew the 2 air shows over the weekends of March 12-13.

The Blue Angels fly the F/A-18C Hornet fighter-bomber with blue and gold colors. It is led by seasoned fighter pilot Commander Ryan "Guido" Bernacchi of Los Altos, California.

Bernacchi is an alumni of the University of California at San Diego and a former TOPGUN instructor who previously commanded the "Golden Dragons" of Strike Fighter Squadron 192 (VFA-192) at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, and served as an academic fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

- Events Coordinator (#8): Capt Corrie Mays (USMC) of Cape Cod, Massachusetts
- Executive Officer (#9): CDR Robert Flynn of Moorestown, New Jersey

For the Marine Corps C-130 "Fat Albert Airlines," we have:

- Main Pilot (#10): Capt Katie Higgins (USMC) of Severna Park, Maryland
- Copilot 1 (#11): Maj Mark Hamilton (USMC) of Becker, Minnesota
- Copilot 2 (#12): Maj Mark Montgomery (USMC) of Cartersville, Georgia
