Do Not Be Friends With Unbelievers, Unless You Need To...Scripture Twisting 101 Ep 7 - Quran 3:28

Most Muslims truly believe that Islam is a religion of peace and want to live in peace with their non-believing neighbors. However, Quran 3:28 clearly tells Muslims that the cannot be friends with unbelievers and be pleasing to Allah. Muslim scholars have said that Quran 3:28 doesn't say that at all, and that Muslims can be friends with unbelievers if they fear that they may be persecuted by them or until the unbelievers can be subjugated by Islam. The doctrine of Taqiyya says that Muslims can deceive unbelievers by being friendly to them. How, then, can unbelievers know if Muslim friends are really friends?
