Why don't Canon and Epson make printers for black and white printing? What about 3rd party inks

Is it just a matter of the inks? Why don't Canon or Epson make specialist printers for monochrome printing of photos and artwork?
Looking at why 3rd party inks are less common, the B&W print modes of existing printers and why it's all about just how small the demand for specialist printers is.
