Democrats were trying to 'destroy Trump' before he set foot in the White House

Democrats were so incensed by the election of Donald Trump they were determined to destroy him before he was even inaugurated, according to Rosalynn Carter's former press secretary.

Barbara Heineback - who is the first African-American woman to serve as a press officer to a first lady - told Sky News the Democrats were determined to "stop anything Donald Trump was trying to do."

She said since President Trump is an independently wealthy man, he is not owned by vested interest, and he was able to expose the "lack of governance" within both the Democrats and the Republicans.
