First Training session with a horse that pulls back while tied - Fixing the problem using a Tie Ring
if Chester is going to find and you home the first thing he has to learn is to be able to stand tied. He has a reaction to being hard tide so we are doing a session on The Grooming pad using a tie ring. The concept is that since he is able to pull back and relieve his own pressure that he will eventually Stop The Bullying back Behavior. After about 10 minutes he is starting to relax and not pulling back nearly as much I am giving him a release whereas I untie him and let him realize he can't is if Chester is going to find it and you home first thing he has to learn is to be able to stand tied. He has a reaction to being hard tied so we are doing a session on the grooming pad using a tiring. The concept is that since he is a late able to pull back and relieve his own pressure that he will eventually stop the pulling back behavior. after about 10 minutes he is starting to relax and not pulling back nearly as much. This will take multiple sessions, but the tie ring works well.
