1968 Piaggio Ape Calessino Ride in Beautiful Olive Tree Countryside Val Steria - 4k Liguria

Sit back and enjoy the ride in one of the most iconic three-wheel Italian vehicles of the last 70 years. This is an original 1968 Piaggio Ape Calessino, a five seater that derives from the chassis of the "workhorse" Ape. It was equipped with a small but reliable 175cc engine that you can hear while we make our way up the breathtaking olive tree countryside in Val Steria in the province of Imperia Liguria.

Along the narrow countryside roads you can see olive trees growing everywhere and beautiful small villages such as Riva Faraldi, Villa Faraldi and Tovo where the locals make some of the best olive oil available.

The Ape Calessino is also known in other parts of the world as a tuk-tuk, it is said that this name was given because of the typical engine sound made by the small two-stroke engine.
The Piaggio factory still going strong to this day is also famous for inventing and producing the Vespa, one of the most famous scooters ever made.
