Bushy Tales: Healthy Edmonton
Bushy Tales is a short animation capturing the varied and colourful views of young Edmontonians on health related matters.
Equipped with a mike and recording equipment we hit the mean streets of Edmonton recently to interview a bunch of local youngsters. They talked candidly about things like fast food, healthy eating, exercise, lifestyle, smoking, drinking, drugs, doctors and hospitals.
Then, to bring the characters to life, we assigned each young voice an animated animal. A precocious crab, an urban pug, a hyper squirrel, a myopic bat, a new-age gorilla and a clumsy spider all feature, as well as assorted goats and pigeons.
The result is a humorous and thought provoking new take on Nick Park's famous 'Creature Comforts'.
Bushy Tales will show that -- despite appearances -- not all youth are wild.
The work was commissioned by Healthy Enfield and was produced in partnership with The Gifted.
