A Tribute to Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers [Somethin’ Stupid]

A tribute to Fred and Ginger, king and queen of musicals, the 1930s, and... pretty much everything.

I wanted to focus a little bit on the many great moments they had together besides their dancing, because not only were they incredible dance partners, they're also one of the greatest couples ever filmed, period. And of course, when their amazing performances are taken into consideration... it's no wonder they were as sensational as they were.

The Astaire and Rogers movies were some of the first I watched when I was getting into Old Hollywood, and they're mostly to blame for my unreasonable obsessions. They started everything. And in the two years since I found out about them, they have given me so much joy. I can only thank God that they got together and made these ten wonderful movies, and that they have been preserved for us to enjoy 80 years later. So this little video is just a celebration of this legendary team... and I hope you enjoy. :)

The music is Frank and Nancy Sinatra's "Somethin' Stupid", and I don't own the song or any of the clips you see here.

Movies included:
Flying Down to Rio (1933)
The Gay Divorcee (1934)
Roberta (1935)
Top Hat (1935)
Follow the Fleet (1936)
Swing Time (1936)
Shall We Dance (1937)
Carefree (1938)
The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle (1939)
The Barkleys of Broadway (1949)
