Family Rush - Game Walkthrough

Legions of the underworld have kidnapped your child. But they will be in for a surprise when the family strikes back in this survival shooting game called Family Rush. Your character will run automatically on the field, and your task is to simply shoot all the monsters that will appear in the screen; skeletons, bats, ghosts, clowns, and more. Eliminate them quickly or else they might start shooting back. Save up the coins and use them upgrade your character's health and weapon stats. Once you get farther, you will be able to unlock new members of the family that uses different kinds of weapons.

Overview:

You’re an average family with nothing better to do than raise your little baby. Then for some reason, demons from who knows where decide to kidnap your baby just because they were bored. Now who do you call? They call no one of course, because your family can kick butt on their own. Have a merry time with dad, mom, granddad, grandma and the dog to go rescue their beloved baby. Sweep through a field of monster and demon infested territories just to get our bouncing little baby back.

Aesthetics:

Family Rush has very nice visuals using hand drawn animation. You get to remember old cartoons with the animation being fluent and smooth. The game even begins with a nice little cutscene using comic book style of storytelling. The music itself is simple but good. There are only two tones with the first one being simple and generic. The in game stage music is an adrenaline pumping tune. It’s a nice synthetic rock tune that gets you pumped up and very investedinto the game as you annihilate the waves of demons and monsters.

Gameplay:

Family Rush is a 2D shooter that has the characters moving constantly. You don’t need to press any buttons to move your characters as you only need to use your mouse to aim and shoot down the enemies. You get points each time you pick up one of those pellets. You can use points to upgrade your weapons and health. It maybe a bit hard when you’re starting first since you have low life which you get killed immediately with one hit. Upgrading your health can be advantageous for the first time. When you progress deeper in the level you get to rescue the other members of your family. Once you rescue them, they’ll be joining you the next time you enter the level. There are four members that you can save and each of them has their own specialties. They can still be upgraded as well with their health and weapons only. The first character you can play is dad who has the standard machine gun weapon. It’s a weapon that is basic and good for shooting down enemies. It’s a fast gun with average power that is used for all enemies. The mom uses a rocket launcher which has good attacking power but has slow reload time. It can only be fired on flying enemies so that’s a downside. The grandma uses a cat holding dynamite which can be used to attack ground enemies only. It has a low reload time but the blast radius is bigger than the other weapons. The grandpa can use a sniper that can hit all areas with a powerful attack but has a slow fire rate. The dog is a medic that gives healing items to the members of the family. The game can be challenging in the early parts but the more you upgrade the further you can get into the game which is still good.
