Steam King - Game Walkthrough (full)

As a king that protects his kingdom, you should be the one kicking out the bad guys invading your land. Use a unique gun against these intruders here at Steam King. From level to level, shoot the knights and other mechanical enemies you will encounter. You're just a king and not a powerful god, so better take distance or else you will lose health. Destroy crates and open up chests to pick some health potions, cogs, and special items that will grant you temporary abilities. Visit the shop so you can upgrade your armor and your special weapon using the cogs you've collected.

Overview

Steam King is a fun filled and quite wacky actually, platform shooting game that has you controlling your character and need to blast your way through the levels using you steam powered gun, the game features a medieval theme so you'll be battling a lot of knights here and other enemies too, you will be armed with a steam powered gun, grenades and other powerups such as the unholy strength and many more, don't be too confident though as the knights are well protected and it takes more than one shot from your steam powered gun to take them down, it'll be quite challenging but it will be fun indeed, there are a lot of goodies scattered in the game by the way, there are chests that contain grenades, potions and many more and there are also chests that contain cogs, the cogs are very important as they serve as the in game currency, collect a lot of cogs and then use them later to upgrade your character, the game is check point based by the way, if your character dies, he goes back to the last checkpoint you reached, so come on and join this fun filled adventure, blast those pesky knights, royalty style, here in Steam King.

Graphics and Sound

Steam King has very simple 2D graphics, it has simple character designs that are presented in a cartoony manner and nice details, designs are quite varied too, the different types of enemies in the game have their own unique looks and weaponry, environments are quite pretty too, they look bright and have lots of details, the foregrounds are very colorful and the backdrops seem nice, colors are lush and vivid, everything really is nice to look at, animations are quite smooth too, not really that fluid and movements seem repetitive but it still looked kinda nice, music and sounds are cool by the way, the in game music has a cool lively beat and the sound effects are quite simple but explosive, special effects on the other hand are totally basic, nothing new or fabulous here but somehow it still looked kinda nice and funny, overall, the simple graphics and presentations still made the game looked quite nice.

Gameplay

Steam King as mentioned earlier is a platform shooter, and as such, you will be exploring the levels killing the bad guys and collecting the treasures and chests found, you will have unlimited ammo with the rifle but the grenades are not and it won't carry over to the next levels so better use them immediately, especially if you are faced with the tougher enemies, you should also try to collect all those cogs that you find as upgrades are quite costly, you'll need a lot of them if you want your character to grow stronger faster, controls are so easy by the way, you can use the standard WASD or the arrow keys to move your character, the Z or X to fire and the spacebar to throw those grenades.

Features

Steam King features simple but beautiful graphics, it is played in a side scrolling manner, you get to use a steam powered rifle and grenades to eliminate the enemies, there are also a lot of powerups that you can use, the game is checkpoint based and it has very simple and easy to use controls to make the game easy and more fun to play.

Conclusion

Steam King is quite fun, a cool time passer if I may say so, I had fun controlling the king and blasting those pesky knights to oblivion, check it out and have some fun.
