Esclavos de Babilonia (Film-1953)

El presente film, se basa en el libro de Daniel y describe la liberación del pueblo judío de su cautiverio en Babilonia.
El libro de Daniel, es un libro bíblico en el cual se relata la vida del profeta Daniel, quien vivió como exiliado en Babilonia junto con gran parte del pueblo hebreo en el siglo VI a. C, durante el reinado de Nabucodonosor II, así como sus profecías. La primera parte del libro, narra las vicisitudes de Daniel y de otros tres compañeros por ser fieles a Dios, al contrario de lo mandado por Nabucodonosor II, quien exigía por parte de los judíos la adoración de los dioses babilonios paganos. Igualmente, se narra la sabiduría de Daniel al interpretar correctamente los sueños y visiones del rey. Por último, el libro relata lo sucedido con Daniel cuando los babilonios fueron vencidos.
El cautiverio del reino de Judá, comenzó con la deportación y el exilio de los judíos inmediatamente después de la toma de Jerusalén y la destrucción del Templo por parte de Nabucodonosor II y finalizando con el edicto del rey persa Ciro de 538 a. C, que permitió el regreso de los judíos a sus tierras de origen al año siguiente. Después de unos cuatro meses de viaje, los israelitas llegan a Jerusalén, han pasado exactamente 70 años desde que la ciudad fue destruida y el país quedó sin gente. Pero aunque los israelitas han vuelto a su país, la historia les deparará futuros tiempos difíciles.

This film is based on the book of Daniel and describes the liberation of the Jewish people from captivity in Babylon. The book of Daniel is a biblical book which recounts the life of the prophet Daniel, who lived as an exile in Babylon along with most of the Hebrew people in the 6th century B.C., during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, as well as his prophecies.
