Lockdown Distractions!
Welcome to the Corona Virus Chronicles... Tim is now self-isolating, and presenting his videos directly from his apartment, via a web link.

Tim has a variety of 'finger fiddles' - things to have on your desk to play with and distract you. Maybe extra useful in these lockdown days... These all came from Japan, and were acquired in 2010.
First, some peas in a pod. Or maybe they are edamame beans? Squeeze the pod and the peas/beans pop out. Release them and they pop back into the pod, since they are anchored by a strong piece of elastic.
The next one is designed to be a zip pull, and is similar to the previous one, although it just has one bean inside - looks rather like a broad bean.
Then an electronic item - made of plastic, with electronics inside, it looks like the top of a drinks can, including a plastic ring pull. When you pull it, this triggers the electronic circuit, and you hear the 'click' as if you are opening the can, and then a fizzing sound, from the (virtual) drink inside, as you pour the liquid into the glass. Of course, you don't actually get a drink, but you can repeat the opening process, with all the attendant sound effects, as many times as you like!
Finally, a toy that Tim doesn't fully understand, since all the instructions are in Japanese. There is a plastic box, with a strip you can pull away at the top. There are a number of contacts on the underside, and somehow as these contacts are activated, there are various sound effects that can be triggered.
UPDATE
One of our knowledgeable viewers has sent us the following information about the last item...
Subject: Mugen Periperi
ムゲン∞ペリペリ (Mugen ∞ Periperi)
It is a simulation of opening a box of snacks.
Every time it will simulate the sound of opening the box. sometimes you will open it and it will snag and make a tearing sound. There is a randomized roulette sound. When the Roulette wheel stops it will play a ping pong sound, a booo sound or a cat's meowing sound.
