This video will show you a simple way to dry wet material such as dirt. when you are working on a site during winter, is important that you maintain all your back fill material covered to avoid getting it too wet and unusable. if the material is too wet, there are some things you can do. for example:

1. Rip the material out about 6" and let it dry with the sun.

2. If there is not enough sun, you can help the soil dry by moving the material back and forth and mixing it with dry material. This is time consuming, but waiting for the material to dry on its own it may not be an option.

3. Use drying additives such as lime, cement or a combination of both. This will speed up the process but it can be costly.

In this video we discuss the use of lime as an additive to our soil to improve the drying time.

Before you add any time of additives, please consult with our soils engineer if this option is viable, remember adding lime or cement will increase the corrosion factor in your soil.
