Asia’s first upper arm double hand transplantation was performed at Amrita Hospital in the year 2017. Shreya Siddanagowder- who had lost both her hands in a road mishap - received new arms in a highly complex surgery performed by a team of surgeons led by Dr.Subramania Iyer (Head, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery). In this video, Shreya and her parents narrate their journey of finally getting a life-changing arm transplantation.
