What is the price of a hand? | Diwakar Vaish | TEDxDelhi

Diwakar presents the cheapest robotic prosthetic arm in the world, completely made in India (actually 3D printed). Robotic prosthetics are prohibitively expensive for most people and for millions living without a limb, every day is a struggle for survival.
With several inventions dividing costs and multiplying functionality, this robotic arm is revolutionary for most people.

Diwakar Vaish is a 23 years old robotics researcher and Head of Robotics and Research at A-SET Training and Research Institute. Diwakar is the developer of India's first completely indigenous 3D printed humanoid robot (Manav) and also the country’s first's first mind controlled robot. In 2016, Diwakar developed the world's first production brain controlled wheelchair for Locked In Syndrome (LIS) patients which uses the brain's electrical impulses to command the wheelchair. A guest lecturer at IITS, NITs and several other engineering institutions in the country, Diwakar has been recognised for his pioneering work by Former Presidents of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam & Smt. Pratibha Patil.
