Devil's Pool - Zambia, Africa

Devil’s Pool is a natural infinity pool at the top of Victoria Falls, created by thousands of years of erosion.

The Pool can be reached from Livingstone Island and has only been open to the public since 1992.

The Pool is normally accessible between late August and early January when water levels aren’t high.

Five trips are offered everyday and tours last 1.5 to 2 hours.

A maximum number of 24 people are allowed at one time.

Despite the scary 100 meter drop from the top, the tour operators claim that there have never been any fatalities at Devil’s Pool.

A short swim in the Zambezi River is required to get from Livingstone Island to Devil’s Pool.

In the local Kokolo language, Victoria Falls was called “Mosi-oa-Tunya,” which means “the smoke that thunders.”
