SSI SSDI Social Security VA | $1400 Stimulus Check Update | Why is it taking so long!?
This is your stimulus check update and $1400 stimulus check update for those of you on SSI, SSDI, Social Security, and VA benefits and for anyone else that hasn't received their $1400 third stimulus check yet.
It sounds like many SSI, SSDI, Social Security and VA recipients who do not file taxes have not received their $1400 stimulus check
The IRS is taking longer to get those who don't normally file taxes their stimulus checks, much like the first stimulus check and this is just incredibly frustrating.
Some of the most vulnerable individuals continue to wait once again for their stimulus check.
The IRS did say that those that used the Non-Filers tool previously, should get it automatically and it sounds like they should also get it quickly.
There is no Non-Filers Tool for the third stimulus check, but if that changes I'll let you know.
I will be talking later on in the video about how to get the first or second stimulus check if you never received it but were eligible.
For the $1400 third stimulus check...
IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig said:
“We urge people to carefully watch their mail for a check or debit card in the coming weeks”
Direct Express Card holders should start seeing their $1400 soon
Various lawmakers sent a letter on Monday calling for the IRS and Social Security administration to get the problem fixed as soon as possible and get those checks out to those on SSI, SSDI, Social Security, and VA benefits recipients
“Some of our most vulnerable seniors and persons with disabilities, including veterans who served our country with honor, are unable to pay for basic necessities while they wait for their overdue payments,”
As part of this letter those lawmakers asked that the IRS and Social Security Administration provide a schedule for payments by this Friday March 26th for when those on SSI, SSDI, Social Security, and VA benefits will receive their $1400 stimulus payments.
It also does sound like the IRS is starting to send out paper checks and EIP debit cards as well.
Didn't Get the 1st or 2nd Stimulus?
For those of you that didn't receive the first or second stimulus check, but were eligible, you will need to file taxes to claim those.
Remember if you were claimed as a dependent on someone else's taxes in 2019 and 2020 you are not eligible for the first or second stimulus check.
If you weren't claimed as a dependent and on SSI, SSDI, Social Security or VA benefits, you should be eligible for the first or second stimulus check.
