3 Month Supine with Leg Lowering | Core Stability Exercise for Low Back Control

This exercise is called 3 Month Supine with Controlled Leg Lowering. It is a progression from the basic 3-month supine position and is commonly used to improve core control, intra-abdominal pressure, hip control, and low back stability.

The goal is to keep your lower back flat against the floor while slowly lowering one leg at a time. If you feel hip clicking, pinching, low back pain, or your back starts to arch, reduce the range of motion and focus on creating more pressure through the abdomen.

Key cues:
- Keep the lower back flat against the floor
- Create pressure through the abdomen, like the stomach is gently ballooning out
- Keep the neck long and tall
- Move slowly and with control
- Lower one leg at a time
- Avoid hip clicking, pinching, or low back pain
- Think about reaching through the heel or extending through the hip, not just lowering from the hip flexor

This can be a helpful progression for patients working on low back pain, hip control, core stability, and rehab exercise progressions.
