Budget 2026: Sitharaman Allocates Rs 10,000 Crore For SME Growth | N18G

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her ninth Union Budget in Parliament on Sunday, February 1, 2026. The budget is being delivered on a Sunday for the first time since 1999. She has allocated funds of Rs 10,000 Crore For SME Growth The presentation follows the tabling of the Economic Survey 2025–26 on January 29 by Sitharaman, authored by Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran. The Survey projects economic growth of 7.4 per cent for the current financial year, with a ‘nowcast’ estimate of 7 per cent for the October–December quarter. For 2026–27, India’s growth is expected to remain steady, in the range of 6.8 to 7.2 per cent.
