How to Make a Microscope, Chapter 11

Customers can add additional parts onto their microscopes, such as detectors, manipulators, electronics, and software, making each microscope truly original. First, the finalization specialist connects all the electronic boards with the server, where they install the microscope software. The microscope is then set up and tested with standard samples. The samples have exact dimensions, allowing the specialists to calibrate the microscopes. There are many testing and setup phases the microscope must complete before heading out the door. While the device setup and preparation is being finalized at FEI, the customer must also prepare for the microscope.
