You've probably been hearing a LOT about 5G Internet in the past couple years, but do you ever wonder what even 5G means?!
Well, 5G is the fifth-generation technology standard for cellular networks, which began deployment worldwide in 2019. It’s the successor to 4G which still provides connectivity to most current mobile phones.
Supposedly, 5G offers higher download speeds, with a peak speed of 10Gbps when there is only one user in the network (which may never happen in most places)
5G also has higher bandwidth to deliver faster speeds than 4G and can connect more devices, improving the quality of Internet services in crowded areas.

You may have also seen some ads claiming that trees can block 5G signals, and in part, this is true.
Trees and other solid objects CAN sometimes interfere with your signal, like having your router behind a couch or a fish tank may reduce your internet speed and how branches and tall buildings may interfere with satellite internet like Starlink getting a good, stable connection, 5G could also be affected by obstructions such as trees.. But certainly not to the extent where you need to cut a whole forest down just to get signal.
