I Designed This Gothic Outfit Using An AI

I used an AI picture generator to design this gorgeous gothic outfit, then drafted my own clothing patterns for a knit shirt and circle skirt, with a pair of gloves, based on the design in this AI picture. I sewed this full gothic outfit based on the AI design created in the Imagine AI app.
The AI used knit black shirts as reference images for the gothic shirt in this picture. It also included rouching at the bust. So I used some scraps of black stretch knit fabric I had for the shirt. I drafted the shirt with a square neckline, rouching at the bust with a strip of elastic, and an empire waist with a long gathered strip of fabric like a peplum. I sewed the shirt together using my sewing machine and serger.
The AI used black knee-length circle skirts made out of neoprene for its reference images, but I don't have any neoprene, so I used a black jacquard fabric with roses on it instead. I used my circle skirt pattern with the sway back adjustment as a pattern to sew my skirt. I sewed the zipper and skirt hooks on by hand, serged my raw edges, sewed a few seams with my sewing machine, and spent several days painstakingly sewing a blind hem stich by hand for a beautiful, flat, seamless finish.
There was a lot of pinning, sewing, and pressing involved in sewing this outfit together.
I drafted a pattern for the gloves by tracing my hand. I sewed the gloves by hand out of the leftover black stretch knit fabric I used to make the shirt with. Since the AI was confused and added red nail polish to the thumbnail of the gloves, I also added a red thumbnail to mine, and it is starting to grow on me. I really enjoyed wearing these warm gloves for my photoshoot since there was some pretty cold October air that day.
The AI picture included some beautiful fall foliage in the background of its picture, so I made sure I timed everything perfectly to take pictures outside with my own fall foliage. I did rush sewing everything together so I didn't miss the leaves changing color before all the leaves fell on the ground. I managed to make this outfit done in 3 weeks, just in time for the leaves. And I was fortunate to find the perfect field to film in with gorgeous fall foliage in the background to match my AI image.
I am in love with the way this outfit turned out, and feel like a gothic princess while wearing it. It fits so well and I'm glad to have a nice outfit to wear that looks so good. Using the AI picture generator Imagine AI to design and sew a gothic outfit was a really fun experience, and I'm glad it turned out sew well.
