Basket Hitch Anchor Tutorial | Quick Tip

When it comes to anchoring or tying a piece of webbing around an object, most of us opt for the simplest version which is often times the only version of tying a piece of webbing onto that anchor.
Here is another option. It's simple quick and extremely strong. By creating and tying a basket hitch around the object, you initially distribute your load onto four different strands of the webbing instead of just a single or double strand. By adding in the master knot, you then increase the strength and create a system that is not going to shock load the system if a strand fails, or it won't sent you plummeting to your death either.
We are all trying to survive the Coronavirus quarantines and social distancing restrictions. This is something you can take a few minutes and practice around chairs and table legs and it is a really great anchor. I've even used this anchor to create temporary courtesy anchors where needed. Go ahead and give it a try.
