Inmates intervene to help corrections officer during assault at St. Louis City Justice Center
An inmate assaulted a female corrections officer with a closed fist as she was opening a door, sources said. Inmates intervened and got the corrections officer to safety. Both the officer and the inmate were taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening facial injuries, sources said.
