Energy Storage: Apex Lab

Sandia’s APEX Lab (Advanced Power Electronic Conversion Systems Laboratory) is designed to support the development of innovative power conversion solutions for utility scale energy storage applications. Researchers are focused on improving the cost, efficiency, and reliability of power conversion systems. The APEX Lab is designed for hardware experimentation, rapid prototyping capabilities, streamlining the process of power converter design and implementation. Research in the APEX Lab is part of Sandia’s efforts to address the challenges of grid modernization, helping to ensure the resiliency and security of the nation’s electrical infrastructure.
