Restoration Small Forest Axe
Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this small axe at a flea market. It perfectly fits for hiking and bushcraft. Such a small hatchet is convenient to carry on your belt and in a backpack. The weight of the axe is small, but this tool in the forest is very useful. Well, let's start the restoration!

First, I removed the old wood handle from the head axe and used rust remover liquid. Then I washed, dried and oiled the axe. To removed patina from the axe surface I used angle grinder. After that, I noticed a there is rust left and decided to remove it with the help of electrolysis. And it worked! I saw the hardening zone of the cutting edge, it was very small. I hardened the axe anew. Then, I cleaned it, and it became clean and without rust.
I chose a beech tree for the handle of the axe. The wedge was also made of wood. In the handle and made a hole for the lanyard. Also, I made a leather sheath for the axe. As usual, I made a test for you. I hope you will enjoy this restoration project.
