India To Cut Import Dependence On 200 Petrochemical Items To Protect Forex Reserves

Amid rising global uncertainties and surging fuel prices, the Commerce Minister and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade have held critical meetings with petrochemical industry stakeholders. The government has drawn up a targeted list of about 200 items that are derivatives of the petroleum and petrochemical industry with a singular goal: cut India's international import dependence and shift manufacturing back home.
