Electric vehicle makers are witnessing record demand amid consecutive fuel price hikes and PM Narendra Modi’s push for EV adoption. Tata Motors and JSW MG Motor India told NDTV Profit that inquiries, walk-ins, and bookings for electric vehicles have sharply increased in recent weeks. JSW MG reported a 23% jump in EV bookings, while Tata Motors highlighted rising customer interest in affordable green mobility alternatives. Companies also expect EV penetration in India to rise significantly by the end of 2026 as consumers look to cut fuel expenses amid the West Asia crisis.
