THE HEART OF THE PHILIPPINES (Geographical Center Point In Marinduque)
THIS IS THE REAL HEART OF THE PHILIPPINES!!
Literally, if you look at a map of the country, Marinduque looks like a heart! And did you know that there is actually a geographical reference point on this Island Province that was used in 1911 to map the country? Yes, the island looks like a heart, is in the heart of the country, and even has a point recognizing its significance! Not to mention the vibes from the locals are heartwarming!
On this BecomingFilipino adventure day in Marinduque, we went to Mogpog, and climbed up to the Luzon Datum. The views were stunning... although it is sad at times seeing the destruction from Typhoon Tisoy. But, things will recover, and Marinduque is still incredibly beautiful and travel-able!
