In the book Decisive: How to Make Better Choices in Life and Work, Chip Heath and Dan Heath explain the four villains of decision making and how to avoid them. The first is to avoid narrow framing, and this is basically a change of mindset. You must learn how to thing in terms of "and" instead of "or". The second villain is the confirmation bias, which is a logical fallacy that can turn you in the wrong direction. The confirmation bias will spotlight information that you are in favor of. The third villain is short-term emotion. Try to avoid anger or infatuation when making a risky decision. The fourth villain is overconfidence in your decision and being so sure of yourself that you avoid to see your mistakes. Remember these villains and try to make better choices in your life. I really enjoyed reading Decisive, so make sure to buy and read it soon! Chip and Dan Heath included many interesting stories in this awesome book.
