This is the coolest, most epic guitar scale in my opinion and will always add spice and flavor to your guitar playing! It can sound Egyptian, or Spanish, or Indian, or Arabic, depending on how its played. This amazing guitar scale has been recognized by many cultures and therefore goes by many names, such as the Gypsy Major, Double Harmonic Major Scale, Byzantine Scale, Arabic Scale (Hijaz Kar).

The intervals of this scale are: 1 (tonic), b2 (minor second), 3 (major third), 4 (perfect fourth), 5 (perfect fifth), b6 (minor sixth), 7 (major seventh). In this guitar lesson the scale and all examples are played in the key of E - which allows us to also incorporate open E and B strings to give us more possibilities with the sounds that can be made possible!
