So, Megadeth is one of my favorite bands and I've done a few of their covers before. I hadn't done this one yet and a Patron requested it, so I couldn't resist doing it. Of course, I had to use my Megadeth shirt and the Jackson Bass with new strings like Ellefson. I typically use the KISS bass for Eb songs, but there are some exceptions. I'm also really happy with my tone on this song.

David Ellefson is such a consistent player. He plays his lines like they are on the tracks and doesn't usually leave anything out. The first two videos show this well. His positioning is one of the most important parts about Megadeth bass lines because of how the riff is constructed. If he a different position, then a lot of bass lines we know and love might be more predictable harmonically, so I'm trying to follow his positioning as best as I can (even more so than usual, which I try to get as accurate as I can anyways)

Bar 105 - low D. I play it up an octave to fit a 4 string bass, but I used my new synth pedal on the one note to get the low octave. David Ellefson is known for using a 5 string, so this would be on the low B, but there's not enough of the song that is on that string to necessitate a separate 5 string cover.

Shows David Ellefson well on the intro and some of the Verse and Chorus. Phone mic got blown own during the recording FYI
2:55 - starts open A and shows the whole intro well
3:38 - shows during verse, last E is on 2 on D and then starts the 4 bar riff again (bar 15 beats 3 and 4)
3:46 - goes into pre chorus
3:53 - Chorus (uses 5 on E, not open A as previously before chorus)
4:17 - end of chorus slide positioning

Cool show of Ellefson sitting in with a tribute band playing through the song
up through the chorus it's the same as the first video
3:47 - Ellefson has the 5th fret of E visible, so it's either fret 6 or 7 before open A
3:49 - end of chorus
5:01 - Bridge after 2nd chorus, similar to following vid. He repeats basically the same pattern
5:19 - Interlude before solo positioning
6:34 - clearly shows fret six. his index finger is on it and it's the only fret covered

2:41 - hear bridge, see some of it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXsgq9nm2Cw
2:42 - bridge

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExfpPTgQU7E
1:10:06 - bridge following the chords again

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgoWHWP71ik
2:45 - even though it'd down a whole step, it's easier to hear

Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
