Germany study visa types include Language visa, student applicant visa and student visa. Requirements of Germany student visa for all types, including the conditions associated with each type of study visa is explained in this video. International students can come to Germany on 3 different types of study visas.
1. Language Visa: Language Visa for Germany is issued to those who intend to learn German language in Germany and will return to home country. To get the language visa applicants must be enrolled to a German language course of at least 18 to 20 hours per week. In addition to enrollment letter applicant must provide sufficient financial proof which can be done either through blocked bank account or through formal obligation letter.

Upon fulfilling these requirements, language visa will be issued. Applicant must keep in mind the following conditions associated with the language visa for Germany.
1. Language Visa for Germany is limited for 12 months
2. Job/work is NOT allowed during the Germany language visa
3. German language visa CAN NOT be converted into other visa types
Student Applicant Visa or Study preparation Visa
The purpose of student applicant visa is to come to Germany to apply for different universities. This visa is also issued for a limited number of months and can be extended if one of the following conditions is met.
If student get Admission in Foundation Course (Studienkolleg) during the 9 months the student applicant visa can be extended
Admission in the target degree makes it also possible to get the extension of Germany student applicant visa.
Student Visa or Study visa for Germany: Requirements of Germany study visa are following.
Confirmed Admission Letter from a University in Germany (must state language of instruction)
Conditional Admission Letter (must contain condition/s)
Confirmed Admission in a Studienkolleg or German language Course
Sufficient funds to bear all expenses
Blocked Bank Account OR
Formal Obligation Letter (Verpflichtungserklärung)
The conditions associated with German student visa are as follows.
Study Visa is issued for a duration of 3 – 6 months from home country
