"Sumo" from the 159th Fighter Wing, Louisiana Air National Guard, affectionately known as the Bayou Militia, takes the stage with an F-15C Eagle for a flight demonstration over Dover Air Force Base during the Sunday show. Sumo was unable to fly on Friday due to the weather conditions and this was also supposed to be a two-ship capabilities showcase. One of the jets broke when it arrived at Dover and was unable to get fixed in time for the airshow. Unlike the demo you saw from McGuire in 2023, this profile contains no aerobatics but does make a ton of noise.

This is the first airshow with a new video camera and while the output in the eyepiece looked fine, much of the video is not. As in past videos from the last 24+ years I've shot using manual focus set out to infinity. At certain zoom the picture is fine and once you go all the way in, you lose a considerable amount of sharpness. I had no idea about this until I downloaded the video off the card. Video from Thursday and Friday were shot in manual focus and Saturday and Sunday was shot in auto focus.

This SHORT is ORIGINAL CONTENT, unlike others re-uploading their video and passing them off as shorts. It was shot using an iPod mounted with my video camera.

The 2024 First State Airshow took place at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware on May 18-19, 2024. The video here was shot on Sunday May 19, 2024.

The rate applies only to music broadcast over the public address system during the air show portion of the program and does not provide the air show with the right to use pre-recorded music at concerts or other non-air show special events held in conjunction with the air show.
