How to Open Cadillac Escalade Hood?

To open the hood on your Cadillac Escalade, begin by locating the primary release lever inside the cabin. This lever is typically found on the driver's side, beneath the dashboard, often near the door sill or parking brake release. Pull this lever firmly; you should hear a distinct "pop" as the hood unlatches slightly, leaving a small gap at the front. Next, proceed to the front of the vehicle. With the hood now ajar, you'll need to locate and disengage the secondary safety latch. This is usually a small lever, tab, or handle positioned under the front edge of the hood, often near the center or slightly off-center. Feel around the gap with your fingers until you find it. Push or pull this secondary latch while simultaneously lifting the hood. Once disengaged, the hood will lift freely. Depending on your Escalade model, it will either be held open by gas struts or require you to secure it with a manual prop rod, which you'll find tucked away on the underside of the hood, ready to be inserted into its designated slot.
