Vengeance - Tornadoes Strike Minnesota [September 20, 2018]

After 50 hours of editing, this documentation is finally up!

On September 20, 2018, an unseasonably strong low pressure system took aim for the upper Midwest. During its reign, a tornado outbreak transpired across Minnesota, with additional wind damage in western Wisconsin. I take a more in-depth analysis of the synoptic and mesoscale set-up of the environment and showcase timelapse videography and high quality b-roll during our storm chase. Spoiler, we didn't see any tornadoes, but a good friend (Jeff Wetterlin) did...in fact, he's still the only one to my knowledge with documentation of a visible funnel/tornado (which was the Grenada, MN tornado that is referenced in the video.)

NWS MPX has great write-up of the event which includes the antecedent environment, radar analysis, and thorough storm survey graphics. Here's a link to the aforementioned webpage: https://www.weather.gov/mpx/20180920_Severe_Weather

Thanks for being patient with this production, as I'm trying to balance out my work with my content with my final semester of undergrad before I can be considered an actual meteorologist!

Song used in this video was inspired by the movie "The Equalizer" staring Denzel Washington. The title of the track is "Vengeance" by Zack Hemsey.
