WHO: ‘public health catastrophe’ imminent in Gaza

The WHO spokesperson, Christian Lindmeier, said the risk of civilian deaths was directly linked to Israeli bombardment, and also warned that underlying conditions could no longer be treated because of a lack of resources, emphasising the risk to babies in incubators and pregnant women.

Gaza health authorities say more than 8,300 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began airstrikes after Hamas killed 1,400 people in Israel and took more than 200 hostages in early October.
