Expedition Batu Tara Volcano - Indonesia - Pyroclastic flow! Documentary report, Time-lapse

Unique and intense #footage of the #volcano "#Batu Tara" (Burning Stone) on the island of Komba (Pulau Komba) in the #Indonesian #Flores Sea during a volcano expedition in #June and July of #2015.

Among other things, the film presents striking images of #strombolian #eruptions emanating from the volcano during the day and the night, images of the #Milky Way, a glimpse into everyday life at the #base camp, and unique #time-lapse footage of the Batu Tara volcano.

One particular highlight of the #expedition was the opportunity to film a #pyroclastic #lava #flow which was triggered by an eruption of ash during which a piece of the# crater rim collapsed causing lava to race down the side of the volcano at around 150 km/h into the open #sea! This footage was taken in the early morning hours of July 3, 2015 at a distance of about 100 meters after focusing the camera in the crater for more than twelve hours.

Einzigartige und beindruckende Impressionen mit #dokumentarischen Hintergrund vom #Vulkan „Batu Tara“ (Brennender Stein) auf der Insel #Komba (#Pulau Komba) in der #Flores Sea – Indonesien während einer #Vulkan-Expedition im #Juni/Juli #2015

Unter anderem sind in dieser kurzen Reportage verblüffende Fotos von #strombolianische #Eruptionen des #Vulkans am Tage und während der Nacht, von der #Milchstraße und dem #Alltag im #Basecamp, kurze #Video-Mitschnitte und noch bisher #einmalige #Zeitraffer-Aufnahmen vom #Batu #Tara Vulkan zu sehen!

Ein besonderes Highlight der #Expedition war die Gelegenheit einen #pyroklastischen Strom per Video von nahe festhalten zu können.
Dieser wurde durch eine imposante #Asche-Eruption ausgelöst bei der ein Stück des #Kraterrandes einstürzte, raste anschließend mit ca. #150km/h die #Feuerrutsche hinunter und suchte sich seinen Weg über das offene #Meer!
Nach mehr als 12 Stunden Wartezeit mit #Fokus auf den #Krater, entstand diese Aufnahme als eine der Letzten in den frühen #Morgenstunden des #3.Juli 2015.
Die Entfernung betrug ca. #100-150m von meinem Standpunkt aus.
