After veterinarian Sam McGuire proposes to TV star, Julie Carlyle, she moves to Iowa to get married. The producer of her variety show moves with her, and they plan to broadcast the show from KCOM, the local TV station. On their wedding night, Sam has an emergency veterinary call and has to leave the marital bed.
