Unboxing a (SURPRISE!) Victorian Clothing Haul from Hello Vintage \\ Part 1of 2

A few weeks ago, Carolyn from Hello Vintage in Oakland, reached out to me to ask if I'd be interested in her giving me some hand-picked Victorian women's clothing to unbox with you all. Obviously, I said yes! 😍She sent me so many beauties, that I had to break the video up into two parts - so the final installment will be released on June 21, 2020! I loved this whole process - I had no idea what she was going to send me, so this week's and next week's videos were *so much fun*!

❤️As a Dress Historian who also loves to sew historical costumes, I love studying antique clothing from all eras - from the 18th-century up through the 1920s (and if I could ever study clothing other than the 18th-century I would probably cry happy tears and then curl up into a little ball and die a little bit, but I digress...). By studying antique clothing, we can learn different sewing techniques, learn more about different fashion trends throughout history, and learn how to be better dressmakers and historians through the process. Clothing is a great connector to the past, and I love sharing with you all how different Victorian bodices or Edwardian dresses were made.

(Note: In exchange for this video, Hello Vintage sent me a selection of Victorian Era clothing pieces to open and share with you all.)
