Palo Verde / Parkinsonia florida / State tree of Arizona

Palo Verde in spanish means green stick or green stem is a desert tree mostly found in Sonoran desert. It can tolerate harsh hot climate and non fertile soil and need less water. It provides food in form of edible seeds to birds and animals. Because of harsh desert climate, it doesn't have many leaves and stem does most of photosynthesis , which is green. It is also state tree of Arizona.
