Dayanna's Christmas List Surprise

12/13/23: Dayanna Gonzalez (9 years old) of San Lorenzo wrote a letter to Santa asking for a pink bicycle, Enfamil formula for her four-month-old brother, and a $25 Robux gift card for her 15-year-old brother. Santa's elves solicited help from the San Lorenzo Village HOA, where ACSO Sheriff's Technician Clowser is a HOA member. Sheriff's Technician Clowser then asked Deputy Burbank and CHP Officer Pabst to help make Dayanna's Christmas wishes come true. Deputy Burbank and Officer Pabst immediately began gathering gifts for the family. Deputy Burbank also contacted the Deputy Sheriffs' Activities League Dig Deep Farm Food Hub and the San Lorenzo Family Help Center (SLFHC) and secured donations of groceries and Enfamil for Dayanna's baby brother.

Yesterday afternoon, our Crime Prevention and Crime Reduction Units, along with CHP, Alameda County Fire, Sheriff's Technician Clowser, and the executive director of SlFHC, paraded with lights and sirens to Dayanna's home and presented the family with an abundance of Christmas gifts and food. The family was extremely grateful. Dayanna, overcome with tearful joy, was excited about her new pink bicycle. Working together is nothing new for First Responders, but it was great to coordinate our efforts to show the true meaning of Christmas to Dayanna and her family!
