Protect and Preserve the Rust and Patina on your Hot Rod - How To
With the color matching basically done on the C10, I figured it would be a good time to protect the original paint/patina on the truck. I've used boiled linseed oil on all my projects for years! It's cheap and easy to apply. It's not permanent and does need re-applied a few times a year. The oil gives the paint a dull shine without buffing or polishing. I love how it brings out all the under tones of the original paint. Any one can do this process in a few hours and it will completely change the look of the car and keep the rust/patina safe!
It seems funny to make the new panels look old and beat up but it's the look/style I like.
