Hi everyone! Welcome to Virtual Walks Australia.

Let’s take a walk together through Sydney’s Central Business District. Walking East on Market Street crossing George Street, Pitt Street Mall and passing the David Jones shopping centre, we arrive at Hyde Park.

Australia’s oldest park offers 16 hectares of wide open space in the heart of central Sydney. Enjoy the shade of 580 mature exotic and native trees as we walk down the central avenue lined with Hill’s Figs. We walk through various themed gardens and visit the iconic Archibald Fountain Est. 1932. Set against the backdrop of the city skyline is St Mary’s Cathedral, home of the Catholic community. The south side of Hyde Park is dedicated to the Anzac Memorial built in the early 1930’s in the Art Deco style.

With St James and Museum train stations next to the park, it is a convenient and peaceful spot for many city workers and tourists alike to visit.
