Want to talk about JIS screwdrivers. What JIS is. Is the Japanese Industrial Standard.

This is an Impacta, it's a impact driver, screwdriver. And what you do, when your going to loosen something that is dissembler metals or been together for a long time or over tightened. What ever the reason. You take this firmly in your hand. Insert it into the screw. And you hit it on the end here with a hammer.

The idea is and I've got one here to show ya. We cut it apart.There is a mechanical cam action in the handle. That when you strike this with a hammer, it turns this shaft, 12 degrees to the left.

So, you got several forces at work. One you are holding it tight in your hand. holding it tight is important because you don't want it to turn. When you hit this you are forcing this shaft into the screw. Increasing its contact, as well as turning this shaft 12 degrees to the left.

The shear impact, the hit and the quickness of which this works. Will take that screw out. Again, these are gold in terms of what they can do for your restoration and so forth.

This is not the driver you pick up when you are ready to reinstall. This is not your go to tool just loosening and tightening screws. This is a impact tool, for removing something that is over tight. Or corroded together. This is why the JIS driver, flat works.
